Hi, I'm Natasha and I am a qualified integrative counsellor. Being integrative means using a range of approaches to therapy, giving me different tools that I can adapt to suit individual client needs. My practice is based in Person Centred and Psychodynamic training as well as drawing inspiration from existential philosophy. My love for nature, the outdoors and animals also influences the ways I can adapt to work with individual client needs.
Face to face talking therapy takes place in my dedicated counselling lodge, providing you with a safe, comfortable and confidential space for you to explore what is important to you.
PLEASE NOTE:
I will resume face to face sessions early 2021
were I can ensure these are Covid secure and adequately socially distanced
(subject to current Government guidance)
Telephone counselling allows even easier access to talking therapy. Busy lives, mobility issues and social distancing can all make access to traditional face to face therapy difficult, so being able to access counselling over the phone has made therapy even more accessible, even when life becomes difficult. Whether that be on the phone or over zoom, I have invested in training that allows me to continue to provide a counselling service virtually as a regular part of my practice .
More and more research is highlighting the health and wellbeing benefits of being outside in nature. Walking therapy is a way that I can offer another avenue for those who may have found face to face counselling uncomfortable. Walking allows for a more relaxed "beside you" approach to session as well as a host of other benefits of engaging in the natural world and moving within it.
For those who do not want to walk, I can offer the opportunity to sit outdoors during sessions.
Although more prevalent in the US. Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) is becoming much more accessible here in the UK. We have long known the benefits of human interaction with horses from the excellent work done by the RDA and as a form of treatment for veterans with PTSD.
Using EFL I hope to bring the healing benefits of Equine interaction to counselling clients who feel they may benefit from this unique therapy.
I aim to provide a counselling service that adapts to suit your needs. By exploring different ways of working we can find the most beneficial way of helping you, whether that is inside, outside, through the facilitation of horses, walking in nature or a combination of methods, you are in control of your therapy and how you want it to work for you.
The warm and welcoming purpose build counselling lodge, provides a calm, safe and confidential space for therapy, and also acts as a base for the start of Walking and outdoor sessions.
